Universal schedule planning
Alicja from Newlands Care Angus
Schedule publishing would work best and become more universal if it included:
- recognising between non driving carers and driving carers
- ability to set if the run requires a driver or non driver for single runs
- or driver + non driver carer team for double runs
- setting the schedule based on runs instead of only templates
- runs rotated between carers so they get to know more than one run and every day isn't the same (reduces stress both carers and clients and helps with covers in case of holidays or absences)
- assigning visits on past matching days does leave individual visits unassigned from a run that got included and some other runs are left unassigned so it doesn't work for us as well unfortunately
- ability to view the schedule to see runs listed and what one or two carers are assigned to those weekly
Right now, schedule planning is working well f.e. for care homes or companies that are based on walking runs. If it comes to providing service with crucial car travel, we still have to do it old-school and publish rotas manually, because the system does not recognise a walker from a driver. We also function in 3 areas and our carers rotate between them, so templates don't work for us because every week is different.
(If I left some things behind it maybe be best to find minutes from my meeting with Rocio, I probably explained everything better then :))
Thank you
