I would like an end date option for pinned notes.

We would be able to put a pinned note for a set amount of time. For example, Mrs Smith's son is away until the 17th April, please remind her of this if she is disorientated. - This could be set for a set amount of time and reduce admin tasks of removing these.

Just so I understand what you need:

Where do you use pinned notes most — on the
client profile
,
rota
,
visit notes
, or somewhere else?
When the end date hits, what should happen?

- Auto-unpin (but keep the note in history)?

- Fully remove it?

- Move it into a “past pinned notes” list?

Do you need an
exact time
(e.g. 17 April at 09:00), or is
date-only
enough?
Who should be able to set/change the end date — office admins only, or also carers?
Would you want a reminder before it expires (e.g. “this pinned note ends tomorrow”)?

Good practice we see with other care teams:

Keep pinned notes
short + action-based
(like your example).
Add a clear
start + end
(“Until 17 April”) so carers don’t have to guess if it’s still relevant.
Use pinned notes for
temporary context
, and move longer-term info into the care plan.

If you tell me where your pinned notes show up day-to-day, I can picture the best flow for the end date option. 👍

Hi Simo Hännikkälä, we use the pinned notes mostly on the diary notes screen. When the end date hits, we would like the note to be unpinned but kept in the note history, having the option to end at a time and date would be great if possible. It would also be really useful to receive a reminder notification shortly before the pinned note is due to end. Thank you so much for your prompt reply!
